Corrective Measures Study

FMC is conducting environmental studies relative to possible historic releases of contaminants from the FMC Middleport plant under the terms of an administrative order on consent with the US Environmental Protection Agency and the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation and as required under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).

FMC is currently conducting a Corrective Measures Study (CMS) for the suspected air deposition study area south of the Erie Canal and west of the county line and the Culvert 105 study area. This study will identify and evaluate corrective actions (or remedial alternatives) including “no further action”, for all properties in the CMS study area. Throughout the CMS Tasks, FMC will be contacting residents in the CMS study areas to inform you of opportunities to participate in CMS activities and to update you on the status of the RCRA Program.
